July 1st! Can you believe it? 3.5 months since our lives have been turned upside down by Covid. Several projects complete including our little farmhouse front porch makeover! It all started with the purchase of my dream rocking chairs. I’ve been wanting a pair of rockers out here since we moved in. One day during quarantine I was browsing Target online (like I do because QUARANTINE) and came across these beauties. I ended up ordering them from Overstock though because they were slightly cheaper. The gray stain is now sold out but the teak version is beautiful too! Then I scored the metal basket table on sale at Kirklands. I’m obsessed with it. The top comes off as a serving tray and I store the pillows in the bottom. I’m loving this basket table too. The buffalo plaid pillow covers are from Amazon and I grabbed these inserts. I had to use two inserts per cover to get a fuller look.
I had the bench next to our front door so I just brought it out and added this pillow. I love the detailing on the cover. So far I’ve had all of pillows outside for a few months and they’ve held up great! I did have one bird poop incident but it wiped right off with some Thieves cleaner!
My petunias are very happy in these metal baskets. I’ve already had to trim them a couple times so we can sit here. And of course the Happy Place sign is still my favorite and such a great price at under $10!
We put the string lights up last year. I love the whimsical look they provide! Since our porch is covered and fairly protected from the weather we leave them up year round. I found the black light fixtures at Walmart last year for a steal!
I consider my gardening style casual/cottage. I love the look of dense planting and informal design. It provides such charm. Our back garden is a lot fuller than our front so I’m planning on adding more perennials soon!
What do you think about our little summer farmhouse front porch? It’s where I spend a ton of time watching the kids play and drinking iced tea. So happy to have a tranquil place to relax during these strange times! Do you have a favorite place at your home?
I love hearing from you!
