Hello all! We made it through week 1 of our self quarantine here in Washington State. I’m trying not to watch the news much but I think here in WA we are on the front lines of this virus. I’m doing everything I can to protect my kids and our little family. Parker had preschool on Monday but after that I didn’t let the kids have contact with anyone. I made a couple trips to the Post Office (needed for my business) and one trip to the grocery store but other than that we only saw each other. Luckily we are not alone here on the farm! We have a set of grandparents next door and our friends living in the barn. We are sharing meal prep and entertaining the kids. It’s been a blessing to say the least. Oh and the sunshine and 20 acres to explore helped a lot too!
Since Parker is only in preschool and Timothy is 2 I’m not doing much homeschooling. We are learning through play, dance and being in nature. We did check out the free Scholastic preschool courses but Parker wasn’t impressed. She does love the PBS Kids games though. Pinkalicious is her fav! We are also reading lots of books, coloring, painting, and making slime! Honestly it’s been a lot like every other week minus the park, Starbucks and school! RIP Starbs.
We put on bright red lipstick and had a nature scavenger hunt! This is the free printable I used.
We snuggled our animals and drank Sprite in the lawn.
Parker squeezed lemons herself and made us lemonade. Then set up a cute picnic on the porch complete with cookies.
We had 3 lemons so this is the recipe she loosely followed…
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemons
2-3/4 cups water
heaping 1/2 cup of sugar
We selfied A LOT. There’s dirt or chocolate on faces at all times.
I got dressed every single day. When I put on pants and shoes I feel more productive. Maybe this week I’ll try to get a picture of my outfit every day. We’ll call it Quarantine Style Files LOL
On Friday we all piled in the car and drove to Hoodsport. My in-laws have property there. We went for a hike, ate hotdogs and drew with sidewalk chalk on the big rocks.
On Saturday when Luke was home we hiked around our property. We collected frog eggs for a fun science experiment, climbed trees and found some treasures.
I picked up 11 baby chickens from my friend Sarah on Sunday. They are officially my therapy chickens. We love them. I’ll get some more pictures soon and share with you all their fun names!
Week 2 is looking like a lot of rain for us! I plan on sharing how I’m staying healthy (mentally and physically) in a blog post tomorrow.
What has your family been up to?
