My last pregnancy I started wearing maternity clothes early because I was just so excited to be pregnant. This time around my uterus is like hello, there’s a baby in here! I don’t necessarily look pregnant yet. I just look like I ate a few (10!) too many burritos. I’ve been so bloated. I’ve been trying to find creative ways to wear regular clothes for as long as possible. There’s only so many ways to wear a side ruched tee! Am I right?
1. Oversized Tees

Look for words like flowy, boyfriend or oversized when looking for tee shirts. The great thing is boyfriend styles are so in right now you can find them anywhere. Another tip – size up! You don’t want to look frumpy though. Make sure your tee is just big enough not to hug the bloat. Other great styles for the first trimester include babydoll and peplum.
2. Buy a bigger jean size

I bought these boyfriend jeans in one size bigger than my normal size and plan to wear them well into my second trimester. Again, since they are boyfriend fit they have a little extra room. The best thing to do when you find out you’re pregnant? Hide all the skinny jeans. Two days after I found out I was pregnant I put on my skinny jeans and went to dinner. Big mistake. I had to unbutton half way through! Don’t put yourself through the misery.
Both of the above tee shirts are from Jane.com. Jane is a daily deal site that offers boutique styles for women, children and home. New styles are added daily at amazing prices! I make sure to check the site every morning so I don’t miss something good. I scored the rose gold sandals above for $14.99!
3. Leggings & Tunics
Leggings and tunics are already one of my go-to daily styles as a stay at home mom but even more so now that I’m pregnant! You have to be comfy when you have a toddler to chase around and a bit of nausea strikes. These leggings are a high rise style and I plan to wear them all through this pregnancy. Another trick is to roll them below the belly. I’ve never found this to be as comfortable because I feel like my pants are going to fall off but whatever works!
Other tips to stretch your wardrobe during the first trimester – wear a long cami underneath a shirt that might be getting too short due to the bump. Layer long cardigans over tee shirts to add more style and cover up your butt. Anybody else’s butt become pregnant too? UGH. I wish I was one that just grew a belly. And last try the rubber band trick on your jeans.
What are your tips for dressing for the first trimester?

I have never liked the rubber band trick for myself. It just feels uncomfortable to me!
