It’s time for the September edition of The Daily Dime! Remember if you want to join in on the fun all you have to do is take 10 photos from your day, write a blog post explaining them and linkup with us below. It’s a great way to share a little peek into your everyday life!
I took these 13 photos (I don’t like to follow rules) yesterday. Parker’s cousin, Mason, who isn’t really her cousin but we call him that was here visiting. He is my husband’s cousin’s son. So what does that make them? Second cousins? Anyway, while they were playing outside I was able to have a really productive day! Since the August Daily Dime Linkup, we have moved into our new house and now I’m even more pregnant! 35.5 weeks to be exact. I have so much energy though, nesting really is a crazy, powerful thing. Here we go…
Woken up at 7 am by a cute redhead. We laid in bed for a good 30-45 minutes snuggling and watching her “stories” on the iPad.
After breakfast we headed outside to meet Mason and Parker’s grandma to dig up the potato crop from the garden. The kids had so much fun getting their hands dirty. It was like a treasure hunt! We were able to find a big bowl full of potatoes. We also harvested a bunch of carrots.
After cleaning them up, the kids played in Parker’s play area for awhile. Parker was getting tired and hungry so we went in for lunch around 11:45.
After lunch Parker went in her room for quiet time, which is really just a free for all with the toys. As long as she plays independtly so I can get stuff done I’m ok with it! I was able to fold and put away 3 loads of laundry. I even matched up all my husband’s socks. I feel like I deserve a metal. I hate matching socks! HA.
I was also able to snap a few photos to share on Instagram later this week. Disclaimer – usually I am not this on top of things! I take pictures as I need them and post right then. It’s nice to have a couple in the draft folder though #bloggerlife
After quiet time, Parker was pumped and ready to play with Mason again so I sent her on her way. I vacuumed and did a little decorating. I like how this sofa table is coming together. I’m going for the whole farmhouse look in our new house. Because that is just what it is! A cute little farmhouse. I’m learning that all the best farmhouse looks are layered. Lots of pillows and blankets and layer upon layer of decorative accents. Obviously I still need to find a few things to throw in. That vintage 7-Up crate was in our garage when we got the house. It belonged to my husband’s grandpa. I think it’s really cool looking!
Then I went out to our front covered porch and sprayed everything down, cleaned up and added a few accents. Hopefully tomorrow I wake up before the kid so I can sit out there and enjoy the sunrise.
When I was done nesting I met my MIL and the kids outside. They played for a couple more hours. We only had to diffuse a couple fights over toys. Neither of them are used to sharing their toys.
Around 5:30 I headed in to start dinner. I made Burrito Pie from last month’s issue of AllRecipes. Guys, it was so good! I’ll definitely be adding this to our dinner rotation.
After dinner I cleaned the kitchen while Luke got Parker in the bath and ready for bed. Then I sat down, wrote this post, had my protein snack (it helps with my gestational diabetes fasting number) and then went to bed!

HAHAHA. Let me tell you it’s the nesting and the fact that my in-laws live next door. I can send my toddler over anytime and catch up on my duties! But thank you 🙂
My day was a bit of a gong show with being back to work. Still finding the groove.
You’ll get there!
She’s so adorable! Great post!
